Glamorama Bar Pty Ltd (ABN 43 687 966 984) ("Glamorama", "we", "us") operates Glamorama in Melbourne. This policy explains how we handle personal information about people who buy tickets, attend our events, enquire about functions, sign up to hear from us, or use our website.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

1. What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • Ticketing and guest list — your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and postcode or address, plus a record of the tickets you bought and the events you attended. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and ticketing platform. We do not store card numbers.

  • Function and booking enquiries — your name, contact details, and the details of the event you are asking about.

  • Marketing sign-ups — your email address and, if you give them, your phone number and preferences.

  • Website and advertising — standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and advertising pixels (currently the Meta Pixel).

  • Door entry — your photo ID is scanned at the door using an ID scanning system (iDU, operated with Scantek). The scan records your name, date of birth and the photo on your ID, to confirm you are 18 or over and to check for any current banning order. Scan data is stored securely on Australian servers, is accessible only to venue management and the system operator, and is automatically deleted after 30 days unless a ban is in place or the law requires us to keep it.

Glamorama is an 18+ venue and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

2. How we collect it

  • From you — when you buy a ticket, join the guest list, sign up to our mailing list, scan in at the door, or send us an enquiry.

  • Automatically — through our website and checkout.

  • From the ticketing platforms we use — our current ticketing platform and, for past events, the platform we used previously.

3. How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Sell tickets, run guest lists, and manage entry.

  • Answer function and booking enquiries.

  • Tell you about upcoming events and offers by email or SMS, where the Spam Act allows it (see section 4).

  • Group our customers into audiences based on things like which nights you have been to, how often you attend, and what you have bought, so the messages and ads you see from us are relevant rather than generic.

  • Understand how our events, website and advertising perform, using aggregated data.

  • Meet our legal obligations, including liquor licensing and financial record-keeping.

4. Marketing and consent

We only send marketing emails and SMS where one of the following applies:

  • You have opted in — for example you ticked the marketing box at checkout, joined Regulars, or signed up to our mailing list; or

  • You have an existing relationship with us — for example you bought a ticket to one of our events, and we are telling you about a similar event at Glamorama. This is the "inferred consent" the Spam Act allows for existing customers.

Every marketing message identifies Glamorama as the sender and includes an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribe requests are actioned within five business days as the Spam Act requires, and usually straight away.

We do not pass your details to promoters or partners for their own marketing unless you have separately agreed to hear from them.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the providers we use to run the venue, and only what they need for their job. These include our ticketing platform (FourVenues), our email and SMS platform, payment processors, website and hosting providers, and advertising platforms such as Meta.

Where we use advertising platforms, this may include uploading a hashed (scrambled) version of contact details so the platform can match existing customers or find similar audiences. The platform cannot read the underlying email address or phone number.

We may also share information with event partners and promoters where needed to run a specific event you are attending, such as checking a guest list, and with authorities where the law requires.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

Overseas disclosure. Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.

6. Storage, security and retention

Your information is held in the systems above and in our internal records, with access limited to staff and contractors who need it. Our systems use encryption in transit and access controls.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. In general:

  • Door ID scans are deleted automatically after 30 days (see section 1).

  • Ticketing and financial records are kept for seven years to meet tax and record-keeping obligations.

  • Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

  • Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle repeat bookings and any disputes.

After that, we delete the information or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to you.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct anything that is inaccurate.

  • Delete your information, unless we are legally required to keep it.

  • Stop marketing to you, using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

To make a request, email contact@glamoramabar.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

8. Cookies and website tracking

Our website uses cookies and advertising pixels, currently the Meta Pixel, to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at glamoramabar.com/privacy, with the "last updated" date shown at the top.
